Project Background

Trasteel, one of Turkey's leading steel producers, operates with a goal of high quality and efficiency in its production processes. However, tracking whether tasks on the production floor progressed according to the planned schedule was a difficult and time-consuming process with manual methods. This directly affected production quality and made data-driven decision making difficult for management. At this point, the Trasteel team contacted us to digitize the process and establish a real-time monitoring system.

What We Did

As TiriBit Software, we developed a custom software solution to modernize Trasteel's tracking processes on the production floor. The focus of the project was to establish a system that could automatically detect and report whether planned production steps were actually executed.

The main features of the system we developed:
  • We established an image acquisition infrastructure with cameras integrated into the production line.
  • We developed a special image processing engine analyzing these images using Python and .NET technologies.
  • We designed an algorithm comparing the production plan with the steps carried out.
  • We created a user-friendly reporting interface that allows managers to easily access all data.

Thanks to this system, any delays, omissions or deviations in production steps can now be viewed instantly.

What We Solved

One of Trasteel's main challenges in production was that deviations from the plan could only be noticed through manual retrospective checks in a complex and dense production flow. This caused time loss, quality issues and repeated errors in the process.

The system we developed solved this problem as follows:
  • Every step carried out on the production floor is automatically checked by the system to see whether it occurs at the planned time and sequence.
  • Delays, incorrect sequences or steps that never occur are automatically detected and reported to managers.
  • Thus significant savings in time and human resources were achieved.

Results Achieved

Soon after the system went live, concrete gains began to be achieved:
  • Planning and task tracking are now conducted entirely with a digital and verifiable infrastructure.
  • Because delays or deviations on the production floor can be quickly detected, the response time has been greatly reduced.
  • Thanks to accurate data allowing senior management to analyze production performance, decision-making processes have become more precise and faster.
  • Over time, production quality and reliability increased while unplanned downtimes decreased.

General Evaluation

This project with Trasteel became a great example showing that digital transformation can be achieved not only with large technological investments but also with smart, need-based solutions. We increased visibility on the production floor and enabled managers to manage processes more effectively. This collaboration clearly demonstrates how TiriBit Software makes a difference in production digitalization.
